Men’s Hockey Section Rules
1.The rule of the Men’s Hockey Section shall be the rules of the Morpeth Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club with the additions listed below. Men’s Hockey Members will be members of Morpeth Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club and will be bound by club and section rules, these rules may only be amended by a General Meeting of the section.
2.The section shall be known as “Morpeth Men’s Hockey Club”.
3. Subscriptions and Match Fees
3.1. The rate of Annual Subscriptions and Match Fees shall be approved by the AGM of the section; the section Executive may authorise a reduced payment in appropriate circumstances; in the case of new members joining during a playing year a pro-rata subscription will be payable.
3.2. Annual Subscriptions are due for payment before October 31st. Players who have not paid annual subscriptions by November 30th shall only be eligible to play at the discretion of the Executive Committee. New members and guests may play up to four games without payment of an annual subscription.
3.3. No member may become a club official if he owes outstanding subscriptions or match fees unless an agreed payment plan has been arranged, in writing with the committee.
4.0. Section Officials
4.1 The officers of the section shall be Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Match/Fixture secretary, Publicity Officer, Captains and Vice Captains. These officers will be elected at the section AGM. The period of office shall be one year, retiring officers may be re-elected.

5.0. Executive Committee
5.1. The affairs of the section will be managed by the Executive Committee. The officers constitute the Section Executive Committee. The executive committee shall meet as appropriate, the first meeting to be no more than 2 weeks after the AGM.
5.2. The Executive may co-opt additional members as appropriate.
5.3.In the event of the resignation of a member holding any elective position or in the case of an unfilled vacancy, notice of such resignation or vacancy, shall be immediately posted for two weeks on the Club Notice Board.
Within those four weeks any member may be proposed and nominated to the club secretary, for that position.
The committee have the right to make a temporary appointment for the interim period.
If after the four weeks there are no nominations, the Executive Committee can appoint any full member to fill vacant position.
In the case of more than one nomination, the Executive Committee will seek informal resolution. An EGM will be called where deemed necessary.
6.0. Selection Committee
6.1.The Selection Committee shall be responsible for the team selection. The Selection Committee members shall be the Captain/Vice Captains of each team. The Selection Committee shall be guided by and report to the Executive Committee on all matters of selection.
7.0. The Annual General Meeting
7.1.The AGM will be at the end of the season. Members shall be given 14 days notice of the AGM by means of an agenda displayed on the Section Noticeboard.
7.2.Members attending the AGM shall:-
7.2.1.Receive reports on the years playing achievements and a statement of income and expenditure.
7.2.2. Elect the following Officers:-
Match Secretary/Fixture Secretary
Any other officers deemed necessary by the members present
7.2.3.Voting shall be by written ballot.
18.104.22.168. Junior members(aged under 16 years old) are welcome to attend the AGM but are not entitled to vote, with the exception as stated in rule 22.214.171.124
126.96.36.199. All members who have paid in full, their appropriate Annual Subscriptions are entitled to vote, with the exceptions as stated in rule 188.8.131.52.
184.108.40.206. All members who have paid in full, their appropriate Annual Subscriptions are entitled to vote for the position of Junior Captain(inclusive) with no age restriction.
7.2.4.At any election of the Officers the final result be by majority vote.
7.2.5.Where the voting is tied, the Chairman shall have a casting vote.
7.2.6. Consider any other business as shall be communicated to the Secretary and included in the notice of the meeting displayed for members.
Membership of the club shall consist of
8.1. Hon Life Membership: which may be conferred on those members whose past services have, in the opinion of the members, been of such value to the club as to merit their election. Such elections shall take place at the MCHTC AGM. Nominations may only be made by the Club management committee.
8.2.Playing Membership: being those members who are willing to take part in the sporting activities of the Hockey Section, on payment of the appropriate subscription as determined at the section AGM.
8.3. Student Membership: As 8.2 but receiving a full time cousre of education.
8.4.Junior Membership: shall be confined to those members under 18 years of age on 1st October
8.5.Non Playing Member: which may be offered to former playing members of Morpeth or other similar clubs in the area, on payment of an annual subscription as determined at the AGM.
8.6.Associate Membership: may be granted to non-playing members who do not qualify under rule 8.5, on payment of an annual subscription to be determined at the AGM. Such members do not have the right to vote at general meetings.
8.7.Vintage Membership: is confined to players aged 50 and over who have joined the Hockey Club for the sole intention to play Vintage Hockey, on payment of an annual subscription as determined at the AGM. Such members do not have the right to vote at general meetings.
9.1.All members should notify the selection Committee of their availability at least one week in advance.
10.1.Members have the right to have any dispute considered by the Executive Committee before whom they may appear.
10.1 All members are expected to adhere to England Hockey’s Code of Ethics and behaviour. Any breach of this code by a member of MMHC and where deemed necessary by the Executive Committee, will be dealt with by the process as set out in Morpeth Men’s Hockey Club’s Discipline procedure. In serious breeches of this code, outside bodies maybe informed.
10.2.For any other discipline related manner, any incidents will be dealt with as set out in MMHC Discipline Procedure..
10.3.Members have the right to have any dispute considered by the Executive Committee before whom they may appear.
11.0. Playing Strip
11.1.All members playing for Morpeth team shall dress appropriately. Outfield players shall wear shirts and socks in club colours together with white short
