A Tale of Two Hat-Tricks

Morpeth recapture recent form with dominant win over Jesmond Parish Church

Captain Foster started the scoring with a short corner neatly tucked low passed the keeper. What followed next was a first half hat-trick from goal machine Palmer set the pace for Morpeth. Palmer noticed early on that the best way to beat the Jesmond keeper was to hit the ball through the middle and he employed this tactic to great effect.

JPC got themselves onto the score sheet with a breakaway goal making the half time score 4-1

Jesmond were more competitive in the second half and sured up their defence. Marking man to man and frustrating the Northumbrians, until Foster manage to finish at the far post to make it 5. JPC made it interesting by again breaking down the pitch with some good interplay and bagged another, but it wasn't long until the longhirst based outfit started to run away with it. Greenbeck scored a nice goal and Foster scored another short, employing Palmers tactic and flicking the ball through the keep to complete his hat-trick.

With two minutes left Valentine decided he wanted to get in on the act - his first goal coming after a neat one-two with Craggs and his second when put through by Dan James as he rinsed the defender and smashed it into the roof.

Man of the Match - Ross Valentine
